Frequently Asked Questions
How soon can I drink my wine after I bottle it?
We strongly suggest you wait until you’re in your own driveway before cracking open a bottle. Once you are safely home, there is no need (or reason) to wait any longer to enjoy your wine. Cheers!
How many bottles do I need?
Each batch makes 23L. You will need sufficient bottles for this volume. Typically 30 750ml bottles are needed.
How long does it take?
In general terms, craft wine kits are broken into 4-week and 6-week kits. This refers to the need for 28 to 42 days for the average kit to be ready to bottle. Some additional time may be required for complete fermentation, clearing, and/or filtering.
What do I need to do?
If you are having your wine fermented on premise, all you are required to do is start your kit by adding the yeast, and return to bottle once it is ready.
How long can I keep the wine?
Craft wine in clean bottles, stored reasonably well, can last up to 24 months for white and from 36 to 60 months for red. If keeping wine for a long time, advise your wine brewer as there are some minor things to be done with your wine before bottling.
